an open letter about open letters

To whom it may concern, which is mostly zwartitude,
Are we really gonna try to sway votes? Throw the chips up and let them fall!
Or, make sure that Pixies - Surfer Rosa wins.

  1. I think we should try to sway votes. I want to know why people chose what they did and what they love about these albums. Knowing that sometimes allows me to open up my ears--so to speak--and listen to the songs differently. That's just my opinion.

  2. So Sarah, do you want me to list all the reasons why you should pick London Calling, even though Blue is a great album? Or should I just threaten you?

  3. Either would be amusing. How about both argument and threat?

  4. Okay Sarah, here goes:

Joni Mitchell does about two or three things extrememly well on Blue. It's a great record. She writes great folks songs, and she has an amazing voice.

The Clash do about 57 things extremely well on London Calling. They write great songs in many different styles: punk, rock n'roll, ska, pop, reggae, soul, dub, etc. They have some amazing horn arrangements. I think they're just as emotional and political as Joni Mitchell. It's a double album, and there's not one dud song on it. In fact, I don't think there's a song on it that's not first rate. Bascially, it's the complete package.

    As for the threat...

I will reveal all of your secrets--every last one of them, including the one about the person who went missing in GR at the same time you were conveniently "visiting" us, the one about your involvent in the Ponzi scheme, your affair with Tiger Woods...

Do I need to go on Sarah!?!
